This is a special blog, which brings with it a “bombshell” conclusion, namely that I have found an elementary proof of Fermat’s Last Theorem, that only A-level factorisation is required, and that the reasoning involved is surely that which Fermat discovered more than 300 years ago.

Most mathematicians know that Fermat’s theorem has cast a long shadow over the subject’s morale, because it has appeared to show that the best mathematical brains could not work out what Fermat claimed to have discovered.  Now we can throw our hats into the air, because this long shadow has gone.
